Piano Lessons
Simone Ferrini
Your pianist, composer and piano teacher from Italy, based in Dresden
My name is Simone and I completed both my studies in Piano and Composition in Rome.
In 2015, I came to Dresden for an internship as a répétiteur at the Palucca University of Dance, and I have been living here permanently since 2017.
After working as a répétiteur and piano teacher at various music schools in Dresden, in 2021 I decided to offer private piano lessons based on my own teaching concept, developed over the years.
I offer individual piano lessons for beginners and advanced students of all ages (currently, my students range from 5 to 75 years old).
Alongside the three “pillars” of piano playing (repertoire, technique and music theory), I also bring my knowledge of ear training, improvisation and composition into my teaching, when the student shows or develops an interest in these areas. These help to understand music as a “language” and to experience playing the piano not merely as a repetition of notes studied at home.
Lessons take place mainly in the historic Coselpalais in Dresden’s Altstadt, in the premises of the Bechstein Centre. Clara and Robert Schumann also used the concert hall during their time in Dresden for concerts and matinées. Student concerts are also regularly held here.
Alternatively, a teaching room is available in Dresden’s Neustadt district.
Lessons are available in German, English or Italian.
There is no fixed textbook. The musical path is individually tailored to the student’s interests, goals and needs. This creates a structured yet personalised experience, with classical and modern pieces that I can also arrange myself or adapt to different levels of difficulty when needed.
